If any of you out there are feeling bad about themselves I have the cure ... wait for it ... wait for it ... Step 1 : Get a family picture
Step 2: Post to facebook (or my case have the photographer post to facebook because I haven't posted a pic to face book since 2004, not reason other that pure laziness)
Step 3: Wait

I have never felt so good about myself. People are so nice! Seriously!

I really love it. But we had a couple other ideas in mind about what we wanted and she really couldn't nail them down. maybe next time! Here's some of the ideas:

I think next year we might get a cat or maybe one for each of us.

Going Viral!

Today while delivering my sick boys flyers I took the worst fall - and I mean the worst. I am now a 34 year old (it is 34 right ...... 78, 79 .... 85,86 ....99, yup 34. Sometimes I have to count back to remember how old I am) women with skinned knees. I'll spare you all the dramatic boring details but I will tell you on the way up the sidewalk to a house I neglected to see a step. So you can imagine what happened.
Scrapped both knees, both hands, got a huge bruise on my right arm and hit my face on the cement (thankfully no marks on my face, cause it's the money maker!).
In some ways I wish somebody would have seen me, so a least that funniness wasn't wasted, but alas I fear it was wasted. I guarantee that if I was caught on video that I would be going viral.

NOTE: I will not be making any mention of the fact that I have been away for some time, nor will I be making any promises of returning with regularity. "YOU GET WHAT YOU GET AND YOU DON'T GET UPSET!"

Is Your Bed Made?

Whoopi told me (the other day when we were chatting it up) that people are more likely to remember to take their medications (ie: the pill) when they make their bed everyday. I don't know where she got those facts, she may have completely made them up for all I know. But I can tell you a little something about me. Get ready it is about to get personal up in here. The level of bed making should be a good indication to my husband what kind of day I have have - or in other words, how much of a bag I am going to be.
BED ONE - I am not having a great day. I couldn't even get up the energy to make my bed today. I am gonna be unapproachable today (oh and P.S. just in case you haven't figured it out, there will be no supper.)
BED TWO - it's a descent day, probably yelled only once or twice. There will be dinner on the table, but NO DESSERT!

BED THREE - It's has been a great day, I even had the stamina to fully make the bed with decorative pillow. This says I have no intentions of napping today. (although if it comes about that i do nap ... what can you do). There will be dinner and yes there will be dessert. It might be store bought cookies, but that's still dessert.

Happy Easter

SO, because I am so fantastical and on top of everything that goes on in my home and with my children, I  will let you take a peek at easter in around these parts. Ready? Are you truly ready for all the magic?
This is the only piece of evidence that exists that easter (or is it Easter, to capitalize or not to capitalize? I am sure there is an answer out there, but I kinda don't care unless.) actually happened. Oh ya and those 'memories' that the children have. To accurately portray this story, they did have baskets purchased the night before at the local drug store and they had plenty of candy. And really isn't that what Easter is all about? ... What? No?

Side Note: Easter is capitalized, I just found out while spell checking, and yet I still did not capitalize - take that english language!

He is an Actor.

Ethan got to be in a play - don't think he's some big shot celebraty super talented tween or anything, everyone in his class participated (not that he is not those things above ... but so was everyone else in his class). He had his part memorized and his face got super red while he was saying his lines (sorta matched his hair), but other that the redness you couldn't tell he was nervous at all, he said his lines loud enough (did we ever think that would be a problem) and he spoke at just the right speed. The best part was when he was so happy to me and have me come watch him. He's not embarassed of me ... YET! He reminded me at least 4 time before school that his play was today and asked everytime if I could come watch, eventhough I had already said I was coming.

80's Talk

Ella gave a talk a couple of Sunday's ago - she did great yada yada yada and all that. But the best part was her 80's apparel. She loves those gloves and bracelets, she's only had them less that a week and I have had to wash them twice (you know due to wearing them 24/7, eating in them, working in them and such.)

Our Little Natalie

He really hated his ponytail, but this what happens when Ella and I were bored at home while the other boys were at basketball. We even gave him his lady name Natalie.

Toothless

FINALLY!!! She lost a tooth. Almost 7 years old and she had all of those teeny tiny baby teeth. (which I am not gonna lie, I loved) Both teeth came out within 24hours off each other. She's a couple years off her older brother who lost his first tooth before kindergarten - not that I am comparing.

This Does NOT Represent ME!!

I am outraged. So Op (Oprah, but I call her Op, wez tight), as I was saying Op came to town and as a city, we (minus myself), gave her a set of 'truck nuts'. I am disgusted, totally disgusted. It's like saying to Oprah 'we are so red neck and and the biggest bunch of DB's that we don't even know how distasteful these things are.' I don't particularlly find them offensive just douchey.
I was thinking of getting a set of steel ovaries to hang on the back of my car. How would the guys like that.

The theme for my sister's birthday was 3 of my favourite things candy, candy and more candy. - well techniqually there was apps but if it was up to me it would have been all candy.

A Fire or ...

I really like these quote , but I also feel like there should maybe be a few exceptions. IE - when you child takes an ENTIRE bottle of maple syrup and pours it all over you white carpet. There will be some definite yelling. At one point in the clean up process (as the devil child was sitting on the couch with his head down making the sound kids make when they have been crying too hard - you know) I just yelled out at the top of my lungs AAHHHHHHHH(not at anyone) because I was SO frustrated with being STICKY. I thought it would let off some steam and spare the 2 year old some serious sadness. It actually helped.
When he was allowed to get out of time out. He immediately ran up and gave me a kiss then made a B-line to help me clean. -and I use the term HELP very loosely. i must admit at this point I started to think he was adorable again.

As a side note-  I told me kids this story when they got home, and today I went to pick them up to take them on a Valentine lunch date and 2 girls in Ethan's class came up and asked Ethan if they could smell Nate to see if he smelled like syrup.

DYB DYB DYB, DOB DOB DOB

Growing up with NO brothers I had no idea that this whole weirdo world of cubs existed. All these crazy chants and actions, it is like some kind of cult. When Bart first showed me what the cubs do each meeting I thought to myself - 'there is no way in HECK my son will want to do that ... NO WAY'.  -I was told warned to be supportive and enthusiastic (by Bart), and I was. I didn't laugh in front of my cub when he showed me the grand howl (I actually thought it was adorable AND hilarious).  But to make a long story short these 8 to 10 year old boys totally buy into this business. It is a genius program - GENIUS I tells ya.
My boy ironing his necker - necker seriously? The name is necker?

Kickin' It Old Skool

Here's a goodie form last March.

Our Mountain Goat

She's our little mountain goat. I don't know if it is her peanut size or her lack of fear. But either way I regularly find her on top of the counter , the table or the bookshelf (pictured here). She definitely does NOT take after me, my palms start sweating just thinking about heights ... you should have seen me at the CN tower, I am not going to lie I was an embarrassment to my family.

Sweetness

Bart has been out of town for the last few days and the little girl has missed him so much. She is so excited to talk to him when he phones.
As a side note: I wanted her middle name to be Barton (after her Dad, of course), but alas I was out voted. I totally should have fought harder, because she IS her father's daughter.
As a side side note: Look at those freckles. So sweet.

Flashlight Tag

My kids and I played flashlight tag while Bart was out of town - not that we couldn't have played it with Bart home, it just worked out that way. My kids loved it so, SO much. Ella was having so much fun she was squeaking - I must say it was adorable. Such an easy thing, I really should do this kinda stuff more often, I could literally feel the memories being made.

Me Love Cookies

If there was any ever doubt how much I love cookies, here is your proof.
Yes, I love cookies so much that my son has to hide them from me.
Now let me explain. He got a few boxes of cookies at a Christmas white elephant exchange and after he found me sneaking a few - seriously it was only 2 ... alright fine it was only 5 ... maybe 6 - he decided he could no longer trust me and he took his cookies and hid them on me. BUT, guess what ... I found them. And this time I got wise and only took 1 or 2 a day, that way he couldn't tell it was me. SUCKER!
I need help.

My - Mine

Nate's fav : 'my mine' code MegaMind. I pretty much know this movie by heart, and I don't want to drive a screwdriver through my ears (or eyes for that matter) whenever it is on - that in my opinion is a good kids movie. Nate watches it once (sometimes twice a day depending on how much I need him out of my hair). He loves it And find him adorablewhen he watches it, plus I heart Tina Fey. I don't know if I can in good conscience recommend every part of her book, but it's hilarious.

Brother & Sister

Look how sweet, snuggling up while watching a movie. This lasted just long enough for me to get my camera. And as a side note - you'll notice the suitcase in the background. Yes, that is correct, my suitcase is still not fully unpacked - I am working on it OK!

D9

I squeezed in as much shopping as I could, and I must say I am proud of how much I accomplished in so little time and with so many kids around. But out of everything I bought, this is my absolute fav. 12 little books for each month of the year. I am kinda of a stationary enthusiast, so you know this excites me. I've got big plans for these little guys ... BIG PLANS!

D8 - DATE, get it?

We bought a bunch of fireworks to set off on New Year's Eve, but that plan didn't exactly pan out. So we ended up with a grand fireworks show to celebrate Monday.

The kids and the grandpa had a grand time!

D6

c'mon this is just the cutest thing I've ever seen. He insisted on holding her leash the entire walk, much to the distaste of the older sister.
Just a beautiful pic.

D5 - mmmm ... sandwiches!!

An attempt at a family pic - you can see how well that went!
I love to find a delicious, delicious, delicious place to eat on vacay and the winner on this holiday was this sandwich place. Literally could have gone there everyday.

D4 - Cacti, Cacti Everywhere - With a Cartwheel & a Crown Vic

Although I much prefer green grass and the foliage of our summers to the, palm trees and cacti of the dessert. The fact is it is the dead of winter where I come from so the cacti was a beautiful sight.- which is why I took a buttload of cactus pics.
Ahhh .... cartwheels on grass in the middle of winter. So refreshing!
Check out our sweet sweet rental. We were kickin' it old school riding 3 in the front seat.
