TV Madness

I loves me my TV - as you may be able to tell through my previous posts. But I don't want my kids to need TV.

Now, don't get me wrong I am not gonna get up on my soap box and start preachin' about how TV is the devil and you shouldn't let your kids watch TV etc. I NEED my kids to watch TV and play on the computer/video games. Literally NEED it for my own sanity.

But, these past 2 weeks I felt like things were being neglected and the kidlets were too focused on getting to the TV. So like any good mother I jump right in without thinking and make the boldest statement of my life. "No more TV during the week, including video games, computer games and the last resort ipod."

Let me just say the weekend can't come fast enough!

PS - I did give in just once when we were waiting for our food to comeat the restaurant, I just couldn't take anymore. This being a 'mother' is really taking a toll on me.

I gotta go watch me some 'Say Yes To The Dress', before THEY come home.

Caller 9!

Sometimes I feel bad for the DJ on the radio. Not just because they have a face for radio... budum ching. (get it the drums, cause of my joke)

Anywho I feel bad when the DJ's are giving away awesome prizes and the people that win are so lame. Today for example my fav DJ was giving away a pair of tickets to a huge awesome music festival, and the girl was like,
'thank you, I really want to attend that function, I appreciate your kindness sir.'
(okay she wasn't THAT bad, but you get the idea) You may think maybe she didn't want the tickets she thought she was calling another morning show, but she wanted the tickets, she said she was going to try to buy them. SO what's the problem lady act excited.
If I were a DJ I would be a prize Nazi. If you didn't act excited and be grateful ... NO PRIZE FOR YOU!
I actually think I would be a great caller 9. I can hardly contain my excitement when someone calls me to tell me they got a trim. Imagine what I could do with a free trip!

Sorry Garnie.

I Am In Real Trouble

So here's the deal, when I first started to stay home with my kids or kid at the time, I was a real go getter- you know a suzie homemaker. I would make Bart's lunch everyday for work. But he would rarely come home with the lunch kit or Tupperware (or the dollar store version of Tupperware) and sometimes to my horror he would come home and his lunch would not have even been eaten. So I told him he was cut off from my lunches. And that's how it's been the last 5 years.

About every 6 months I would remind him why I don't make his lunch, you know just so he knows I am awesome and it's him not me.

But a few weeks ago I decided to give it a go. I told him - no told is to gentle a word, but none the less it will do - that he better 1) eat his lunch and 2) bring home all my containers. I'll give him props (that's right I said props), he has faithfully completed both tasks. (well I guess I really have no way of knowing if he is eating the food, he could just be throwing it in the dumpster before he gets home).
So what's the problem Kaycee?

Well I am glad you asked. The problem is I hate making his lunch and I can't turn back now. After the rubbing it in the face for 5 years and the lecture, I can't tell him that this is too hard. I am NOT a suzie homemaker (see previous post on Trophie Wife).

But I will continue until the day he forgets his lunch kit or Tupperware, then I'll jump on that like a fat kid on cake - NO MORE LUNCH FOR YOU!

Just A Poll!

Okay for all of you out there I need to know ... Do you like your hair?
Before you rush to comment and jam blogspot with all your responses, let me fill you in on the back story. I have been reading the book 'Simple Abundance'. Everyday I read a page and a couple of days ago the topic was hair. The author went on to say that no women like their hair and we all just need to make the best with what we have. I put a big giant X through the page in total disagreement - my exact thought process was ' how can most women hate their hair. I like my hair and most girls/ladies (are we ladies yet?) that I know have nicer hair than me. So therefore my logic would be that most women like their hair. My mom is in total disagreement with me and agrees with the author.
So settle this argument. Please don't spare my feelings, tell the truth, I am a big girl I can take it.

I am not concealing my child's identity she is just posing with some of her birthday gifts.

sidetracked & updated

I had this great idea for a blog, but I honestly can't remember what my topic was. Either it was a boring idea or ... it must have been a lie. (Just so everyone knows, if you can't remember something you were going to say, then it must have been a lie - it's one of my fav sayings). (See Christy some good did come out of dating Jay.)
(Wow I've used lots of brackets in this post.)
Anywho it's been so long since I've logged in, I forgot my own address, I had to go to someone's page to get the link to mine.
Now for the update - because I have been typing now for a few minutes and still can't remember the original post.
Update #1 - My tooth. Totally fixed felt great almost immediately after ... then today at diner the temporary filling fell out, so off to the doctor again for a permanent fix.
Update #2 - Chocolate ban. Well it's going pretty well. I fell off the wagon pretty good a few times. But I picked myself up out of my own self hatred and started again. I was really looking forward to this past week (spring break vacay) of pure self indulgence and gluttony. But I was sick with a cold and didn't want to eat a thing. BOOOOOOOO!

Update #3 - Lights out challenge. N/A. That is no longer applicable to my life. I am not just giving up, seriously - here's my logic, since I no longer live in my own house hence I don't pay for power therefore it is not my problem. That's logical right?
Update #4 - Dr. trouble. Although I have not been able to get in contact with Dr. Oz to secure him as my Dr. I was able to find another Dr. that I really like. He is sort of nerdy but really knowledgeable and will spend as much time with me as I need to solve my problems. And believe me I got alot of problems.
Wow this is way longer than I anticipated, but now you are up to date.
