Trophy Wife!

I'm done. I can't do it! I tried 3 new recipes this week, I made a great meal everyday (more than just noodles still in the pot with cold sauce form the jar poured on top). But my house was (and still is) a disaster. And I mean disaster. Dishes didn't get done, bedrooms left untidy and even candy wrappers left on the floor - I wish I could blame my kids for the last one, but ...
So I guess I have to choose clean house or eat - hmmm....
I don't know, the only thing I know for sure is I CAN NOT do it all. I can admit defeat. I am just not a Suzie homemaker. I think I am more cut out to be a trophy wife .... YES! I found a new phase, and I know I'll be good at this one. I better go make a nail appointment.

3 Ferraris

So just to keep you updated, I did make those bars (see previous post) and they were a hit. Personally, I don't like anything unless it has chocolate in it so I can't weigh in - seriously even my broccoli has chocolate on it. Bart thought it was so good that he ate half the 9x 13 pan for supper after he worked out and then ate half of the half for breakfast. He said they were so good he would buy them from a bakery.

Now on to the real reason for the blog.

Yesterday I took my kids to the dermatologist and when I was in his office all I could think about was, 'Wow this guy must just make a butt load of money.' His office is huge and he only works until 3:30, but his nurses still take appointments until 7:30pm, plus he had tons of rooms that his nurses were working on people.

So on the way home I was trying to figure out how to get a piece of that action (not the doctor, the dermatology money) so, as any good parent I projected my desires and wants onto my child. I told Ethan if he became a dermatologist he could buy 3 ferraris (is that the plural of Ferrari, it looks weird). That sealed the deal right there and he now says he want to be a dermatologist. He better succeed b/c I have already adjusted my spending habits to being a dermatologists mother.

BTW - just in case you're curious why I was at the dermatologist - I was taking my kids to get botox - they're gettin' a little wrinkly!

My New New Phase ... Maybe.

So the cleaning is going fine and all. My house is decent. But now it's time to take it to the next level. I want to become a 'Suzie Homemaker'. Can't you just picture me with a cute ruffly apron, serving fresh baked cookies to my kids after school.
I going old school.
Alright, Step one - keep house clean - check (sort of, sometimes) Step 2 - Baking and cooking. I am going to try to make at least one new recipe a week. I'll keep you posted. This week I have selected ...

Apple Streusel Bars from the website ourbestbites.com (Thanks Tracey, hee hee Tracey).

Oooo, I am going to have to get a apron now. And learn how to turn on my oven!

Just a question - 'Suzie Homemakers still sleep in while there kids feed themselves breakfast and watch TV, right? Because that could be a deal breaker.

Here's My New Phase!

OK, for all those hundred of thousands of you that read this blog, you may notice that I go through phases in my life. Just check out my past posts if you don't believe me. My 'no TMZ' phase, my 'no junk food' phase and my 'no itunes' phase. (WOW, I really deprive myself, it's all no this and no that)
So here's my new one. My 'neat freak' phase. I've decided to take up a new hobby ... cleaning. I know you're all thinking, 'wow, what an awesome hobby, that girl is way to much fun!', frankly I couldn't agree more.
Alright so it's not as fun as going to a wrestling match, but it's not as bad as going to the doctor for, you know, one of those.
I've have been cleaning for a week (yes I've stuck with this for a week),and I don't hate it.

Don't get me wrong if you were to walk into my house you probably wouldn't notice that big of a difference but it's the little things that I am doing. Cleaning under my couch, washing inside my cupboards and not leaving the house a mess before I go to bed at night. All in all it only takes me about an hour a day. An hour that no doubt I would have just been watching TV. Most likely TMZ, because the 'no TMZ' phase is O-V-E-R.
